Hey ho, folks.
This is our pickup of the heavily oversubbed summer season.
We started Joshiraku, found it was going to be a shitton of work, and gg was already planning to do it anyways. So we’ll let them do that hard work.
Binbougami also seemed like a choice, but it looks like gg’s got that in the bag too.
And everything else is subbed by Commie.
So what’s a group that subs undersubbed shows to do? Well, we managed to find one show that everyone forgot – Tanken Driland.
I know it’s a kid’s show, and I make no guarantees about its quality. But hey, it’s an easy show to do quickly, leaving us more time for batches/blurays/SEED.
I said we’d only pick up one show this season to work on the old stuff, and this is it. So expect some activity on the backlog and also a few ovas/movies (Older Lupin movie coming down the pike for sure)

I don’t even like the show. Plus, we don’t even have the staff resources to do the show and do it well. I’d have to find all new staff just for this show. The only reason I considered subbing it was because I knew gg would be slow, and I wanted to see if I could do it faster.
But the amount of work makes it impossible to do quickly, so we’d end up releasing about the same time gg does. And gg has a very good translator on it, so I’m sure their release will be just fine and probably better than ours could be. Watch gg for Joshiraku, they will only be 3-4 days late each week. You can wait that long, right?

You guys did such an awesome job with Lupin that I am going to watch this show as a result. So what if it be a kids series? I like some of those shows and have and am currently watching a few along with some others. So, tha tbeing said, look forward to more of this one…it may turn out better than some of the over-subbed shows that seem to resemble each other anyway…^^ Have a great Summer!

Speaking of backlog, how is monster farm coming along? Were you able to get the boxed set?
We have the set, but we need to figure out how to encode it. No one on staff is an expert on encoding old DVDs, and some filters need to be applied because the quality will look like shit otherwise. We are doing some research on this, but if anyone knows an old-timer encoder, please contact us!
Are you going to do the Japanese dub for Monster Farm? I thought the Japanese BD/DVD for that was already extinct. lol.

gg will not drop since the translator, vale, likes this show. And they will only be about 3-4 days late each week, so it’s not too much of a hardship. I suggest you watch and enjoy their release.

Thanks, and I am already aware of our inconsistency in capitalizing Hunter. It should be capped at all times, so I am not happy that we missed a couple.
Sub old or forgotten anime instead.
But by subbing this, they’re preventing it from becoming old and forgotten for future generations.
This is an easy anime, leaving us more time to work on our batches and also sub an older ova/movie here and there. An older Lupin movie is coming your way soon.

They were Hadena-tier with Binbougami, and if they use the same excuses with Joshiraku they’ll outright kill the show.
I can’t believe how many people wanted us to sub Binbougami. I’ll take it under consideration, but we would need a serious staff commitment because that show has a ton of signs.
Personally, I’d take minimal typesetting with a good translation over being stuck with gg any day.

Here’s the scoop: the characters in Binbougami SWEAR. gg’s translation was spot on, and there weren’t ANY troll lines. You’re all just pissed cause they don’t use honorifics.
having some issues here in the u.s, with i.p address tracking pirated material – is there a possibility for you guys to go back to file host service and upload your content as renamed material in .rar form? I only started this group because some shows on CR weren’t getting ripped by anyone other than Horriblesubs (gay shows like Kimi to Boku and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi.)
But with all this oversubbing and Commie picking up everything, I think every new show is getting a proper treatment by SOMEBODY (and by that, I mean groups that take CR, edit it, add songs and typesetting.)
Sage will always look for the show that needs the most attention, and that’s hard to find this season.

Just in case you guys get bored / have extra time / are interested, it seems that no one is subbing “Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi”, which I’m liking so far even though I have to rely on my CR subscription/HorribleSubs in order to see it (and my connection is crap, so I HATE streaming anything…) Seems like it would be easy enough to pick up as the few signs that show up are paired w/ spoken lines reading said signs, and everyone is speaking in modern Japanese. >.>
Just so you know there is at least one more show that not even Hadena has picked up XD

Since I’m really enjoying the GREE’s Driland game, I absolutely wanted to watch the anime series thought it’s a kid’s show.
Yeah, kids’ show or not, I’ve seriously fallen in love with this one, so I’m glad you guys are subbing it! It’s completely fun and adorable.

you guys should pick up Ebiten: Kouritsu Ebisugawa Koukou Tenmonbu since NO ONE is doing it and i know a lot of people including me looking forward to seeing it >.<
